Every ministry team has a different job on a Sunday, and the shirt should fit that job. Greeters need to be found. The media team needs to disappear. Kids ministry needs to be obvious to every parent at the check-in desk. One church logo across every team ties it together. Start here: church and nonprofit uniforms.
Greeters and ushers
Visitors look for someone to ask. Give greeters a warm, bright color and a clear back print like WELCOME, HOW CAN I HELP? or simply GREETER. The church logo goes on the front. Polos work for ushers in more traditional services, with the logo embroidered on the left chest.
Media and tech
The sound booth, camera operators and the slides team work best in black or charcoal so they do not distract in the room or on the livestream. A small logo on the chest and MEDIA or TECH on the back in a low-contrast color is enough. Hoodies are popular here because booths get cold.
Worship team
On stage, solid colors and small logos look best under lights and on camera. Busy designs, big white areas and thin stripes can flicker on a livestream. Many worship teams skip a team shirt entirely and coordinate colors. If you do a shirt, keep it simple and use a soft, dark or neutral color.
Kids ministry
Parents need to know who is checked in to watch their children. Use one bright color only kids ministry wears, with KIDS TEAM or the ministry name large on the back. Do not put a volunteer's full name on kids ministry shirts. First names are enough.
Scripture on shirts
A verse reference (like the book, chapter and verse) is always safe to print. Full verse text depends on the translation. The King James Version is in the public domain in the United States. Many modern translations are copyrighted and have their own rules for printing verse text on products. Check the publisher's permissions page before printing a modern translation, or use the KJV or the reference only. Worship song lyrics are copyrighted, so leave them off unless you have permission.
One logo, many teams
Use the same church logo, in the same spot and size, on every team shirt, and let color and back text do the sorting. It looks like one church with many ministries. For anniversaries and special events, see church event shirt planning and church and event shirts.
Ordering for volunteers
Volunteer teams change often. With no minimum, a new greeter gets their shirt in their size when they join, and nobody has to store a box of extras. Volunteers who want to buy their own can order from the same design link. The nonprofit merch post covers selling to the congregation as a fundraiser.
Is there really no minimum?
None. One piece is a real order at normal pricing, with no small-order surcharge and no setup or digitizing fee. Every piece is made to order and ships in about 5 to 9 business days, and that window is the same for one piece or a few hundred. On eligible garments, volume pricing applies automatically once you order enough of the same item, usually starting around 25 pieces.
