Private Label Loungewear With No Minimum: How to Start

Loungewear is one of the easiest apparel lines to start because the pieces are simple and people buy them in sets. A private label loungewear brand needs four things: a short list of pieces that pair together, a consistent color story, your brand on the garment, and a way to test it without buying a warehouse of stock. Start here: merch maker, launch your line with no minimum.

The starter pieces

  • Hoodie or crewneck: the anchor of a lounge set. The garment-dyed hoodie ($57.99) and garment-dyed crew ($43.99) have the soft, lived-in feel loungewear buyers want.
  • Sweatpants or joggers: garment-dyed sweatpants are $49.99 and match the garment-dyed tops.
  • Shorts: heavyweight fleece shorts ($39.99) for the warm-weather version of the set.
  • Cropped hoodie: $67.99, a strong add-on for women's sets.
  • Pajama sets: all-over-print pajama tops, pants and shorts let you print a full pattern for a sleepwear line.

Three to five pieces in two or three colors is enough to launch. A line of twenty pieces spreads attention and makes every product harder to sell.

Travel sets

A travel set is a matching top and bottom that look put together on a plane and feel like pajamas. A garment-dyed crew or hoodie with matching sweatpants, in a neutral like sand, grey or black, is the classic. A small embroidered or printed mark on the chest and the brand name down the leg or on the back of the neck keeps it subtle and expensive-looking.

Putting your brand on it

  • Small chest mark: embroidery or print, about 2.5 to 3 inches wide.
  • Back of the neck: a small outside print below the collar.
  • Inside the neck: a printed label with your brand and size on supported blanks. See inside neck labels for a small brand.
  • Leg: brand name running down one leg of the sweatpants.

Fabric honesty

Garment-dyed cotton pieces are soft and vary slightly in shade from piece to piece, which is part of the look. All-over-print pajama pieces are printed with full-coverage patterns on smooth, polyester-blend fabric that feels lighter and silkier. Tell customers which is which in your product descriptions. Return rates drop when buyers know what fabric they are getting.

Pricing a set

Price the set so it is clearly a better deal than buying the top and bottom separately, then let the individual pieces sell at a higher per-piece price. Our posts on how to price your merch and apparel margins that work have the math.

Test before you scale

Order one full set in each color for yourself. Wear it, wash it, photograph it. Then launch with a hosted store where each order is made when it is placed, so there is no inventory to sit on. When one set clearly sells, that is the one to order in bulk. See white label vs private label and starting an apparel brand without capital.

Is there really no minimum?

None. One piece is a real order at normal pricing, with no small-order surcharge and no setup or digitizing fee. Every piece is made to order and ships in about 5 to 9 business days, and that window is the same for one piece or a few hundred. On eligible garments, volume pricing applies automatically once you order enough of the same item, usually starting around 25 pieces.
